THE SHORT ANSWER
For laptop charging alone, a 240W USB-C cable can be enough. If the same lead must carry fast storage or a monitor, its data and display specification matters just as much as its power rating.

Power is only one label
USB-C describes a connector shape, not a single capability. USB-IF says compliant USB-C to USB-C cables use 60W or 240W power markings, and higher-speed cables also carry a data-rate marking. Read the cable or package before assuming that a thick-looking lead can run a monitor or an SSD.
A 240W mark does not make every USB-C port deliver 240W. The charger, computer, and cable negotiate within the limits of the whole chain. A cable can safely be overqualified for a phone; the phone will still determine its own charging rate.

The two candidates solve different problems
Anker's A88E2 is a sensible charging spare: the manufacturer lists 240W power, USB 2.0 transfer at 480Mbps, USB-IF approval, and no screen mirroring. That combination is useful for a charger bag, but it is a poor choice for an external SSD or a USB-C display connection.
The A84N0 is the specialist cable when the link itself carries data or displays. Anker lists Thunderbolt 4, 40Gbps, 240W, and support for one 8K or two 4K displays. Those are device and interface capabilities, not a promise that every laptop, dock, or monitor will expose them. Check the host and accessory manuals before paying for the higher specification.

Check the complete chain
For charging, match the cable's power mark to the charger's output and the device's input. For storage, match the cable's data rate to both endpoints. For displays, verify that the computer's USB-C port supports DisplayPort or Thunderbolt video; a USB-C connector alone is not evidence of video output.
A short cable is easier to keep tidy, while a longer one can put less tension on a desk or airplane seat. Length does not upgrade the protocol. Keep one cable dedicated to charging and one clearly identified high-speed cable if your work depends on storage or a display.
